General Manager

Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of the company's transportation business. This role leads operations, budget management, customer relationships, organizational development, and regulatory compliance to ensure the business consistently delivers safe, compliant, and reliable transportation services.
Success in this role comes from building strong teams, developing efficient systems, delivering exceptional customer service, and executing the company's strategic priorities through disciplined operational leadership.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Operations
- Execute the company's strategic priorities through disciplined operational leadership.
- Develop annual operating plans and departmental budgets that support company objectives.
- Translate company objectives into measurable operational goals and department priorities.
- Recommend operational improvements, pricing strategies, and business initiatives that improve efficiency, customer service, and long-term business performance.
- Establish key performance indicators and ensure accountability for business results.
- Ensure the organization has the people, systems, and resources necessary to support current operations and future growth.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and operating performance against budget.
- Prepare financial forecasts, business analyses, and operational recommendations.
- Recommend pricing adjustments and operational investments that support company objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, and strengthen financial performance.
- Ensure company resources are utilized responsibly and effectively.
Customer & Commercial Leadership
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners.
- Serve as the primary business contact for customers and strategic partners.
- Partner with the Sales team to support new customer acquisition and expand existing customer relationships.
- Collaborate with Sales to develop transportation solutions that align with customer needs and company capabilities.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and ensure exceptional service.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and support business growth.
- Gather customer and market feedback to support continuous improvement.
Operational Leadership
- Lead the daily transportation operation through the Operations Lead.
- Ensure operations consistently meet safety, compliance, quality, service, and efficiency expectations.
- Establish operational priorities, performance standards, and accountability measures.
- Drive continuous improvement in routing, scheduling, fleet utilization, productivity, and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies.
- Remove operational barriers and support leaders in achieving business objectives.
Organizational Leadership
- Develop and refine the organizational structure needed to support current operations and future growth.
- Partner with Human Resources to develop workforce plans and staffing strategies.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop high-performing managers and employees.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, reporting relationships, and accountability throughout the organization.
- Develop and maintain operating procedures, workflows, and performance standards that promote consistency and scalability.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service.
- Coach and develop leaders to build organizational capability and succession.
QualificationsRequired
- Progressive leadership experience managing an operating business or business unit.
- Three (3)+ years of leadership experience in the regulated cannabis industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing operating budgets and business performance.
- Experience developing pricing recommendations and managing customer relationships.
- Experience leading managers and building high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of Massachusetts cannabis regulations and compliance requirements.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout Massachusetts.
Preferred
- Experience leading a licensed cannabis transportation operation.
- Experience growing or scaling a regulated cannabis business.
- Experience implementing ERP, transportation management, fleet management, or similar operational systems.

Physical Requirements

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
