Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to perform tasks such as concrete mixing, cutting, pouring, and finishing
- Support carpentry activities including framing, trim carpentry, formwork construction, and metal stud framing
- Perform concrete-related tasks such as rebar installation, concrete forming, pouring, finishing, and concrete pumping
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of work
- Follow all safety protocols and workplace safety regulations to maintain a secure environment for everyone on site
- Assist with masonry, stucco application, roofing work, caulking, tile laying, flooring installation, plastering, and restoration projects as needed
- Operate heavy machinery such as concrete mixers and heavy equipment while adhering to safety standards
- Support site cleanup and organization to ensure a tidy and hazard-free workspace
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience working on construction projects
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, concrete cutting equipment, and scaffolding setup
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and material requirements
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and protocols
- Experience with concrete forming, finishing techniques, rebar installation, and concrete pouring processes
- Skills in masonry work including bricklaying and stucco application
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and perform heavy lifting when required
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills for coordinating with tradespeople and supervisors
