About the Role
We are seeking an Automation / RPA / Process Improvement Lead to support a federal healthcare modernization program focused on reducing manual work, improving claims and eligibility workflows, increasing automation, and improving operational cycle times.
The ideal candidate has experience analyzing manual workflows, designing automation opportunities, supporting RPA implementation, improving adjudication or case-processing operations, and documenting business rules and process improvements. Experience with healthcare claims, appeals, eligibility, payer/provider operations, federal healthcare, or VA/VHA environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual workflows and increase automation across federal healthcare operations.
- Support automation planning for claims, appeals, eligibility, enrollment, forms, documents, and related business processes.
- Document current-state and future-state workflows, business rules, process gaps, automation candidates, and implementation recommendations.
- Support RPA planning, front-end data extraction, form/document auto-ingest, workflow routing, and straight-through processing concepts.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, developers, testers, and federal stakeholders.
- Support backlog reduction, cycle-time improvement, operational metrics, and performance reporting.
- Develop process flows, SOPs, use cases, user stories, automation requirements, and implementation support documentation.
- Support UAT, defect triage, deployment verification, and post-implementation process monitoring.
- Ensure automation recommendations account for security, privacy, PII/PHI, and federal compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in automation, RPA, process improvement, business process modernization, or workflow optimization.
- Experience analyzing manual processes and designing automation or process improvement solutions.
- Experience developing process flows, business rules, SOPs, user stories, use cases, or functional requirements.
- Experience supporting workflow automation, document intake, data extraction, case processing, or operational modernization.
- Experience using tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Power Automate, Pega, Appian, ServiceNow, Jira, Visio, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, documentation, facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior VA, VHA, IVC, CMS, DHA, HHS, TRICARE, Medicaid/Medicare, or federal healthcare experience.
- Experience with claims, eligibility, appeals, enrollment, payer/provider, benefits, or beneficiary workflows.
- Lean Six Sigma, RPA, Agile, CSM, SAFe, or process improvement certification.
- Experience developing automation business cases, ROI analyses, or performance metrics.
- Experience supporting cycle-time reduction, backlog reduction, or adjudication improvement initiatives.
Pay: $48.46 - $58.36 per hour
