Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Auditor/Accountant to join our Firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit financial reporting and audit engagements with the ability to manage multiple audits in a fast-paced environment. This role requires proficiency in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), and internal controls testing, as well as excellent communication skills for working with clients and senior management.
Key ResponsibilitiesAudit & Assurance
- Plan, lead, and execute non-profit financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations for not for profit organizations.
- Conduct audit testing on internal controls, cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital assets, and expense accounts.
- Perform single audits for nonprofit organizations, including major program determination, cost principles, and compliance testing.
- Conduct compliance audits in accordance with GAGAS and other applicable federal standards.
- Prepare and review audit work papers to document work performed and support audit conclusions.
- Draft audit reports and communicate findings, deficiencies, and recommendations to clients and audit committees.
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP as applicable.
- Analyze trial balances, general ledgers, cash accounts, and journals; propose adjusting journal entries where appropriate.
- Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements including drafting audit opinions.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal functional groups and external auditors.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff and interns during audit engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in public accounting, auditing, or a related financial role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAGAS, and SAS auditing standards.
- Experience performing financial statement audits for nonprofit organizations.
- Proficiency in audit and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Thomson Reuters Engagement Manager).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CPA license or actively working toward CPA certification.
- Experience leading audit teams and managing multiple audit engagements simultaneously.
- Familiarity with grant compliance auditing for nonprofit organizations.

Compensation & Benefits
- Required 5 days a week in person
- Competitive salary ranging from $80,000-$100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
