About the Role
Shane Smith Law is seeking a highly organized, driven, and growth-oriented professional to join our Case Management department as a Case Management Leadership Associate.
This role is designed for individuals who want to build a strong foundation in case management operations, gain exposure to how a high-functioning legal support team operates, and develop toward future leadership opportunities within the department.
You will work closely with Case Management leadership and gain hands-on experience in workflow coordination, reporting, auditing, and operational support in a fast-paced personal injury law firm.
This is not a front desk or general clerical role. It is a structured, operational support position with clear development potential.

Position Overview:
Full-Time | $42,000/yr | Onsite/In Person | Charlotte, NC
Positions Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, with an hour for lunch
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support & Reporting
- Track and maintain departmental KPIs and reporting dashboards
- Support daily and weekly reporting for Case Management leadership
- Monitor case progression milestones and help identify workflow delays or inconsistencies
- Maintain internal tracking systems and ensure data accuracy across case files
- Assist with scheduling coordination and internal communications
- Prepare reports and summaries for leadership review
Audit & Case Quality Support
- Assist with quality control audits and compliance checks
- Review case files for adherence to SOPs and documentation standards
- Identify missing or inconsistent information and escalate appropriately
- Support documentation workflows and case file maintenance
Workflow & Administrative Support
- Assist with case-related documentation processing and updates
- Support workload organization and task distribution within the department
- Help ensure case files remain accurate, complete, and up to date
- Coordinate with other departments to support case progression
Team Support & Development Exposure
- Work closely with Case Management leadership on operational needs
- Assist with onboarding and training coordination for new team members
- Participate in process improvement discussions and workflow updates
- Support general team organization and communication flow
Career Path
This role is part of a structured growth track within Case Management. Based on performance and business needs, potential advancement may include:
- Case Management Supervisor
- Senior Case Management roles (where applicable)
- Expanded operational or leadership responsibilities within the department
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience in administrative, operational, case management, or structured office roles
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience working with reporting, metrics, deadlines, or structured workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Comfortable using digital systems and learning new software tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Experience supporting supervisors, managers, or leadership teams
- Experience with case management systems or workflow tools
- Experience with data tracking, reporting, or operational dashboards
- Experience training, mentoring, or supporting peers
