Michigan Staffing in Livonia is looking for a person with experience on one or more Print Shop Bindery machines and that demonstrates the aptitude to learn to run all of the machines and equipment in Bindery with our local client who has been in business for more than 80 years servicing Fortune 500 companies.
Must have and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with personnel and the ability to coordinate several tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment. Someone with computer knowledge and Print Shop Bindery experience would be a great fit for this job. Needs to be trainable, creative, adaptable, and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency, while learning the various skills to become an effective Bindery Operator.
The Primary function of the employee is to ensure a high-quality product is produced in every facet of the process. We are looking for a committed craftsman who takes pride in their work.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUAILIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years of experience with various equipment and machines in a Print Shop Bindery – Digital High-Speed Guillotine Cutter, Perfect Binder, Saddle Sticher, Slitter/Cutter/Creaser, Drill Press, Folder, Inserter, Ink Jet, .Shrinwrap, Cerlox, etc.
- Knowledge and experience with the various substrates and how they are impacted by the cutting and binding process.
- Ability to learn/understand the pre and post-cutting process and the workflow that is required to keep the operational standards.
- Self-directed team player with strong focus on customer requirements and solutions.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting material up to 60 lbs.
- Meets the departmental standards for productivity and accuracy.
- Basic Math Skill and able to learn/understand units of measure, fractions, decimals, and use tool of measurement – I.E. Ruler, scale, calculator, etc
- Ability to accurately distinguish up to 30-character alpha-numeric sequences
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
