Join our team as a shopkeeper at our locally owned, USA made, artisan leather goods shop, The Local Branch! We are located in the charming village of Skaneateles, NY just steps from the lake. In this friendly, customer service role, you will be the face guiding customers through their shopping experience, providing expert advice on a wide range of handcrafted products - specifically our own line of handmade leather goods made within a few miles of the storefront. Your passion for hand crafted, thoughtfully sourced retail will help create an inspiring environment for our locals and tourists alike! Whether assisting with product selection, managing inventory, or processing transactions, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional service and fostering a vibrant store atmosphere.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them by sharing the brand’s story
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on leather goods
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to handle sales transactions, cash handling, and refunds with accuracy.
- Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves regularly, and ensure the store is inviting and well-stocked.
- Support inventory management by stocking new products, conducting stock counts, and managing product rotation.
- Offer excellent customer service by answering questions about product features, e-commerce options, and store policies.
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm for customer service is essential.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions.
- Strong organizational and visual merchandising skills for stocking shelves and maintaining attractive displays.
