AASC Pharmacy Services is looking for a sharp, reliable Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our outpatient physician practice. You’ll support our providers by managing medications, handling prior authorizations, and delivering to satellite clinics—all while keeping patient care smooth and compliant. No retail chaos here—just focused, behind-the-scenes work that actually matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Process prescriptions: verify orders, pull meds, label, and prep for patient pickup or delivery.
Manage prior authorizations (PAs): submit through insurance portals (CoverMyMeds, Availity, OptumRx, etc.), track status, follow up, and appeal denials.
Coordinate clinic-to-clinic deliveries: securely package meds, maintain chain-of-custody logs, schedule couriers or drivers, and meet tight turnaround times.
Handle refills, patient call-ins, and insurance claims.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and front desk—clear communication is everything.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Active PTCB or ExCPT certification (current and in good standing).
State pharmacy technician registration.
One year of pharmacy experience (clinic, retail, or hospital—clinic preferred).
Essential Skills:
Expert-level prior authorization processing: know the portals, paperwork, and how to push things through fast.
Delivery logistics: pack meds safely, track shipments, handle temperature-controlled items.
Flawless prescription interpretation: sig codes, dosages, directions—no guesswork.
Proficiency in EHR/pharmacy systems (Epic, PioneerRx, QS/1, etc.).
Solid math skills: counting, conversions, refill calculations.
HIPAA-savvy and detail-obsessed—privacy and accuracy are non-negotiable.
