Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Service Electrician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and lighting systems at commercial customer locations throughout the Milwaukee area.
This is a full-time, year-round field service position for an electrician who can work independently, solve electrical problems, communicate professionally with customers, and complete service calls efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair commercial electrical systems
- Diagnose electrical and lighting problems
- Troubleshoot lighting and lighting control systems
- Replace breakers, switches, receptacles, contactors, ballasts, drivers, and other components
- Perform circuit tracing and electrical diagnostics
- Handle emergency and scheduled service calls
- Perform minor electrical installations and upgrades
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Complete electronic service documentation and work orders
- Communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers and the service department
- Work independently in the field with limited supervision
- Safely operate a company service vehicle
- Use smartphones/tablets for dispatching, documentation, photographs, and communication
- Follow all safety requirements and NEC standards
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial electrical experience preferred
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience servicing and repairing commercial electrical systems
- Experience with 120V, 208V, 240V, 277V, and 480V systems
- Ability to troubleshoot circuits, breakers, panels, lighting systems, controls, contactors, switches, and receptacles
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience using multimeters, voltage testers, and other electrical testing equipment
- Ability to work independently in a field-service environment
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to operate a company service vehicle
- Ability to work from ladders and lifts
- Dependable attendance and professional attitude
- Ability to complete electronic work orders and service documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Commercial Service Electrician experience
- Journeyman-level electrical experience
- Commercial lighting and lighting-control troubleshooting experience
- Experience working independently from a service vehicle
- Experience interacting directly with commercial customers and facility managers
- Experience identifying replacement components and estimating material requirements
Pay: $38.00 - $46.00 per hour
