Responsibilities
- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and creative exploration.
- Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement techniques to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special education requirements or autism spectrum disorder.
- Collaborate with lead teachers and staff to maintain consistent classroom routines and uphold school policies.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom events through scheduled updates or informal conversations.
- Utilize educational technologies such as computers and tablets to enhance learning experiences.
- Follow mandated reporting laws and school policies to ensure compliance with safety standards and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in preschool or early childhood settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation tailored for young learners.
- Strong classroom management skills coupled with effective behavior management strategies.
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with special needs or autism is advantageous.
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles such as Montessori methods or literacy and math instruction.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and colleagues confidently.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Basic proficiency in educational technologies including computers or tablets used for instruction.
