Job Title: Line Cook
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Reports To: Kitchen Manager / Head Chef
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to recipe specifications, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in your workstation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure food is cooked and plated properly and in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations throughout the shift
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Assist with inventory, receiving, and storing food supplies
- Follow opening and closing checklists and complete daily prep tasks
- Notify supervisor of any maintenance or equipment issues
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Kitchen Assistant
- Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment and best practices
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely
- Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Positive attitude and team player mindset
