The Facilities Budget Manager / Financial Analyst aids in planning, developing, and managing the Facilities operating and capital budgets while providing data-driven financial analysis. This role liaisons with college business leadership and facilities department head to align budgets and financial decisions with the college's strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget Management
- Fosters the annual and quarterly budgeting process, including timelines, templates, and guidance for departments.

Assists with development, presentation, & update of operating and capital budgets; ensure compliance with internal policies and financial constraints.

Monitor budget performance throughout the year, track variances, and prepare regular budget vs. actual reports.

Review and identify budget adjustments and amendments, coordinating with stakeholders to address funding gaps or changing priorities.

Design, enhance, and maintain budgetary management systems, tools, and dashboards to improve visibility and control.
Financial Analysis
- Analyze financial reports and operational data to evaluate performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.

Build and maintain financial models to forecast expenses and operating needs.

Provide financial insight and recommendations to support strategic initiatives, pricing, equipment/purchasing, and cost-saving opportunities.

Research market, industry, and macroeconomic trends to develop planning assumptions and management decisions.

Measure financial value and risk for key projects, investments, and facility endeavors.
Reporting & Business Partnering
- Prepare clear, concise management reports and presentations for senior leadership.

Partner with department leaders to understand operational needs, provide financial guidance, and ensure budget accountability.

Communicate financial information in an accessible way to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Collaborate with Accounting & finance teams to ensure data accuracy and consistent forecasting assumptions.
Governance Process Improvement
- Ensure budgets and financial processes align with college goals, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Develop and document budgeting and forecasting procedures and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and control.

Support or lead implementations and enhancements of financial systems and reporting tools.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required.

Master's degree (MBA, MS in Finance) and/or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
Experience:
- Typically 1-2+ years of progressive experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or related discipline.

Proven experience managing an annual budgeting cycle and supporting senior management with financial insights.
Skills:
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.

Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.

Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate with senior leadership.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build effective business partnerships.
