Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our litigation team to handle personal injury, premises liability, and general liability matters. The Associate Attorney will manage a varied caseload, represent clients in court and at settlement conferences, draft pleadings and motions, conduct legal research, and work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategy. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and has hands-on experience with civil litigation and claims handling.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of personal injury, premises liability, and general liability matters from intake through resolution.

Prepare and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and settlement documents.

Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and trial preparation materials.

Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials; argue motions when appropriate.

Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and witnesses; develop and execute settlement strategies.

Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to develop case strategies and ensure timely progress of matters.

Analyze medical records, accident reports, and expert opinions to evaluate liability and damages.

Maintain accurate case files, docket deadlines, and billing records in accordance with firm policies.
Qualifications
-
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the state bar.

2+ years of civil litigation experience preferred; experience handling personal injury, premises liability, and general liability matters strongly preferred.

Proven experience in drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements; courtroom experience (motions practice, depositions, trials) a plus.

Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills; familiarity with Westlaw or LexisNexis preferred.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a client-focused approach.

Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Comfortable interacting with insurance adjusters and handling claims evaluation and settlement negotiations.

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to courts, medical facilities, and client meetings as required.

Salary
$140000 - $180000 USD per year
