General Description: The position is responsible for maintaining smooth operation of day-to-day supply chain inventory challenges as they relate to waste, assist in the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of efficient analytical/diagnostic processes and applications which noticeably affect inventory levels and distribution numbers.
Essential Functions:
- Manages according to operational procedures for receiving, warehousing, and distribution of food products to partner agencies of the San Antonio Food Bank.
- Coordinates with Food Resourcing, Volunteer Operations, and Partner Services concerning all aspects of revolving distribution of goods.
- Supervises warehouse inventory levels and ensures distribution channels are developed for disbursement.
- Manages expedited orders and coordinates fleet capacity with transportation.
- Complies with the requirements as set forth by local, state, and national regulatory agencies in warehousing and safety.
- Complies with the standards set forth by Feeding America.
- Supervise, coach, and develop program staff, setting clear performance expectations aligned with compliance, financial stewardship, and service quality.
- Provide ongoing performance management, feedback, and training to ensure audit readiness and continuous improvement.
- Coordinates Supply chain department inventory activities with other departments including Volunteer Ops, warehouse, and distribution.
- Develop and implement procedures that achieve perpetual inventory control and accuracy targets using cycle count methodology.
- Ensures that warehouse coordinators and team members are well trained, productive, and meeting all housekeeping requirements as well as key performance indicators.
- Collaborates with Inventory Team to perform monthly inventory of products and maintains an inventory control system.
- Responsible for training all Transportation employees on volunteer intake out in the field.
- Provide technical assistance regarding warehousing, inventory, and distribution practices and ensures prompt responses to service-related concerns.
- Weekly review of inventory overages and provide recommendations.
- Ensure a process is in place to monitor inventory rotation.
- Promotes food safety, personal safety and abides by AIB regulations.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable team culture that supports cross-functional partnerships and efficiency.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Will accept equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager or in a similar role.
- Experience supervising regular full-time paid staff, including experience providing effective training, supervision and delegation to others.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and distribution.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, contracts, and applicable documents in product acquisition and distribution.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to use computer systems consistent with operation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skills in computer applications i.e., word processing and database management
- Good judgment and discretion
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to organize work, time, and self.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of deadlines.
