Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, cash register operations, and cash handling
- Assist customers with product demos to highlight features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Maintain an organized sales floor by stocking shelves, merchandising products, and ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked
- Handle cash drawer responsibly, balancing registers at shift end and managing retail math calculations with precision
- Provide knowledgeable assistance on store products, including grocery items if applicable, to support customer decisions
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or providing information over the phone
- Support inventory management by conducting stock checks and assisting with inventory counts as needed
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or grocery store experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in bilingual settings if applicable
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail math ensures smooth transaction processing
- Demonstrated supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and sales calculations
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and customer service best practices
- Excellent phone etiquette and professional communication skills to assist customers effectively
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and evenings as needed
