- Job Summary
- The Maintenance Mechanic position is to perform maintenance tasks on equipment within the company. This operation includes, but is not limited to all production equipment, building, grounds, etc.
- Reports
- Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
- Communicates promptly and effectively with leadership, co-workers and departments such as Production, Quality, Sanitation, etc.
- Responsibilities – Include, but are not limited to the following
- Responsible for repairs needed on plant equipment. Prioritization and efficient repairs are a must to keep this facility producing a safe, quality product.
- Mechanics must be able to identify possible problems with equipment or product flow. The Maintenance Manager should be notified of the potential problems so preventive maintenance can be scheduled.
- Ability and knowledge of troubleshooting processes and methodology.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and programming a strong plus.
- Electrical and mechanical knowledge is necessary for this position
- Responsible for work orders issued by the Maintenance Manager for repairs within the plant and documenting on SRC-4.0.1 “Maintenance Performed Log”.
- Responsible for performing preventive maintenance during shutdowns and scheduled time periods.
- Responsible for following procedures for Temporary Repairs to ensure that safety and quality of products are not compromised.
- Responsible for ensuring that work area is kept clean and that no product contamination could occur due to maintenance being performed.
- Responsible for communication between production operators to ensure equipment is working efficiently and potential problems are discovered.
- Assist Maintenance Manager in keeping an organized parts inventory to allow replacement parts to be readily available for quick repairs and a reduction in plant downtime.
- Lock Out/Tag Out/Test Out Procedures shall be followed during maintenance procedures.
- Adhere to all safety policies and protocols.
- Properly document all work and parts used.
