Duties
- Perform expanded functions such as temporary restorations.
- Take high-quality X-rays, CT's, and ensuring accurate medical documentation.
- Manage patient records using OpenDental while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments using aseptic techniques and adhering to infection control protocols.
- Provide chairside assistance during complex procedures, including vital signs monitoring and medical imaging.
- Maintain dental equipment.
- Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records efficiently.
- Ensure proper use of medical and dental terminology for accurate documentation and coding in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Staff training.
- Placing the order.
Skills
- Fluent in Spanish and English. A MUST!!!
- Proficiency in Opendental for seamless medical and dental record management.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental terminology.
- Experience with X-ray techniques, digital imaging, CT's.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed and six-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency during procedures.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and documentation standards for both dental and medical records.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles to provide compassionate care for elderly patients, patients with dental anxiety, and adolescents.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, patients, and administrative staff.
- Training background in general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields such as prosthodontics or endodontics is preferred.
