American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years ED experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Emergency Department unit with 16 beds in a 109-licensed-bed hospital
-
Facility is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center with no trauma designation and is not a teaching hospital
-
Cares for pediatric and adult patients with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, chest pain, MI, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled DM, and minor trauma

RN to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity, CNA ratio of 1:10

12-hour night shift schedule (7p-7a), 36 hours per week
-
Weekend rotation is every other weekend
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating required within Region 1 facilities as needed, within scope of practice
-
Support staff includes CNA, charge nurse, IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalist, and ED physician team available 24/7
-
Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors

Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI may be obtained within 30 days of start)

TNCC certification preferred

Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
-
General ED skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, vent management, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and ESI assessments

Epic EMR experience required

Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Must be separated from any Advocate Health Southeast facility for at least 1 year if previously in a permanent position there

Provide emergency department nursing care to a mixed pediatric and adult patient population
-
Facility located in Albemarle, NC, about an hour from Charlotte
-
Orientation includes New Employee Orientation plus 2 days of departmental orientation
-
Travelers will work 75% of holidays
-
Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any missed contracted hours added to the end of the assignment

Scrub color requirement is navy

Free parking is available on-site

First-time travelers are not preferred but will be considered

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
