Clean Eatz is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations across our growing organization, including Clean Eatz Kitchen and Clean Eatz corporate operations. This full-time, in-person position is based in Wilmington, NC and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact across multiple business divisions while helping shape the future of our workforce and culture.
About the Role
The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic business partner to leadership while overseeing all aspects of human resources across four Clean Eatz Kitchen production facilities nationwide, four corporate-owned cafés, and our Wilmington-based corporate team.
This role is responsible for developing and executing HR initiatives that support organizational growth, employee engagement, talent acquisition, compliance, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, and workforce planning. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while fostering a positive, high-performance culture across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth initiatives
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, leadership development, and workforce planning
- Develop and maintain HR policies, programs, and best practices that support company culture and operational excellence
- Analyze workforce trends, HR metrics, and employee feedback to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making
- Lead HR projects and organizational initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall business performance
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development
- Oversee and manage full-cycle recruiting efforts across all business divisions and locations
- Develop talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain high-performing employees
- Lead onboarding programs that promote employee engagement and successful integration into the organization
- Support leadership in succession planning, career development, and workforce planning initiatives
- Identify training and professional development opportunities to strengthen employee and leadership capabilities
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employee relations matters across all locations
- Investigate and resolve employee concerns while ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant practices
- Guide managers through performance management processes, corrective action, and employee development conversations
- Promote a positive workplace culture that aligns with Clean Eatz values and supports employee engagement
- Maintain confidentiality while effectively managing sensitive employee matters
Payroll, Benefits & HR Operations
- Oversee payroll administration for all business divisions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
- Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollments, renewals, employee communications, and vendor relationships
- Administer 401(k) plans, payroll deductions, and related compliance requirements
- Maintain HRIS systems, employee records, and workforce data reporting
- Ensure efficient and effective HR processes that support organizational growth and employee needs
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across multiple states
- Manage workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, leave administration, and related programs
- Oversee HR audits, reporting requirements, and documentation practices
- Monitor regulatory changes and recommend updates to policies, procedures, and practices
- Partner with leadership to minimize organizational risk and promote a safe, compliant workplace
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience in a leadership or management capacity
- Experience supporting multi-site and multi-state operations
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices
- Experience overseeing payroll, benefits administration, and HR compliance functions
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
Preferred
- Human Resources experience in manufacturing, food production, retail, hospitality, or franchise environments
- Spanish fluency
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other HR certification
- Experience supporting rapidly growing organizations
