Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated Clinical Director to provide clinical leadership for our primary mental health residential treatment facility in Florence, Montana.
The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing the quality and delivery of clinical services, providing leadership and supervision to the clinical team, supporting regulatory and accreditation compliance, and helping ensure that each client receives individualized, evidence-based, trauma-informed care.
This is a key leadership position for a professional who is passionate about mental health treatment and wants to help build a strong clinical culture focused on client outcomes, staff development, accountability, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, oversight, and direction for the facility's clinical program and services.
- Ensure clients receive high-quality, individualized, evidence-based mental health treatment.
- Supervise, mentor, and support therapists and other clinical team members.
- Facilitate regular clinical supervision, case consultation, and treatment team meetings.
- Oversee clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress documentation, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
- Ensure treatment plans appropriately address each client's mental health needs, goals, strengths, risks, and barriers.
- Promote trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally responsive approaches to treatment.
- Collaborate closely with medical, psychiatric, nursing, residential, admissions, and administrative teams to coordinate client care.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of clinical programming.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and identify opportunities to improve treatment effectiveness and client experience.
- Establish and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Help ensure clinical documentation is accurate, timely, complete, and compliant with applicable requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance, utilization review, risk management, and performance improvement activities.
- Support compliance with applicable Montana regulations, licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Provide clinical guidance related to crisis intervention, safety planning, client risk, and other complex clinical situations.
- Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, training, evaluation, and professional development of clinical staff.
- Foster a professional, collaborative, ethical, and supportive workplace culture.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality standards.
- Perform other leadership and clinical duties as needed to support the facility and its clients.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
- Current Montana clinical licensure, or eligibility to obtain appropriate Montana licensure, strongly preferred.
- Previous experience providing mental health treatment in a behavioral health setting.
- Clinical leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
- Residential, inpatient, PHP, IOP, or other intensive behavioral health treatment experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses, clinical assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and best practices for residential mental health treatment.
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership ability, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively lead a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a client-centered approach.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Understands LOCUS criteria and how to properly assess clients in adherence to LOCUS

Compensation is dependent on experience.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
