Summary:
Responsible for supervising staff (during the shift) and for working with them on the benefits of teamwork and behavioral management for the residents. Responsible for the development, implementation, and review of service plans for youth. Provides care and supervision to residents (approximately 10 youth, ages 9-17), that are placed at the Governor Terry Children’s Center through the Division of Family Services. Works shifts and will not necessarily be on a set schedule.
Requirements:
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Behavioral Sciences; experience with behavior management techniques; and at least 1 year supervisory experience.
- An equivalent combination of acceptable education, training and experience will be considered.
- Basic knowledge of human behavior and human problem-solving.
- Basic knowledge of, and desire to work with, troubled children and youth.
- Basic knowledge of practical counseling and supervision.
- Understanding of confidentiality and ethics as they relate to the position.
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, a vehicle in good working condition and must obtain the level of automobile insurance required by the agency to use personal vehicle.
- Finger printing, background check and physical required upon hire.
Duties:
- Supervises non-clinical staff (during the shift) and maintains a collaborative working relationship with shelter staff.
- Reports to Shelter Manager or Program Director any pertinent information pertaining to staff or residents.
- Complete service plans for youth
- Make sure files for staff and youth are up to date.
- Complete intake/discharge paperwork.
- Collaborate with LLAM compliance worker.
- Works with staff on the benefits of teamwork and behavioral management for the residents.
- Provides continuous supervision and assistance to children and youth in residence. Circulates through the shelter and knows where the children are at all times.
- Schedule for position may include nights, weekends and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,240.00 - $47,240.00 per year
