Part-Time Maintenance Technician
Pay: $26.00 – $29.00 per hour
Location: The Sound Hotel, aTapestry Collection by Hilton – Seattle, WA
Schedule: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development, and hospitality management company, is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Sound Hotel Seattle Belltown, a Four Diamond, award‑winning property known for exceptional guest service and high-quality accommodations.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician supports the overall upkeep, safety, and functionality of the hotel by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks. This role helps ensure a clean, well‑maintained environment for guests and team members while contributing to an outstanding guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to established schedules
- Maintain guest rooms in optimal working condition, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fixtures
- Repair or replace items such as televisions, phones, lighting, bathroom fixtures, mirrors, and hardware
- Troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Perform general plumbing and minor electrical work as needed
- Repair and maintain furniture, flooring (carpet, tile, marble), windows, and finishes
- Maintain equipment used in kitchen, laundry, and housekeeping operations
- Assist with upkeep of building exterior and grounds
- Safely operate hand and power tools
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Identify and report safety hazards and take appropriate corrective action
- Follow all safety procedures and support a safe working environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of hotel or building maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of general maintenance, including plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC (preferred)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the workplace
- Basic math and recordkeeping skills
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Ability to safely use tools and equipment required for maintenance work
- Work may include indoor and outdoor environments
