Position Summary
The Server/Cocktail Server is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by efficiently delivering food and beverages in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. This role requires knowledge of the menu, casino layout, and commitment to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. You are a key ambassador of the Imperial Palace guest experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously in all areas of the casino.
- Take and deliver food and drink orders accurately using the TOAST POS system.
- Serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with WA State Liquor laws and company policy.
- Ensure proper ID verification before serving alcoholic beverages.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar, and floor staff to ensure timely service.
- Handle all guest complaints professionally and promptly resolve issues or report them to management.
- Perform side work duties including restocking, folding napkins, polishing glasses, and preparing garnishes.
- Accurately handle cash, chips, and player comps according to company procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions and events to inform and upsell to guests.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Remain alert and aware of guest needs throughout the shift.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Minimum 6 months previous food and/or beverage service experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced casino environment.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Washington MAST (Alcohol Server Permit) and Food Handler’s Card.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as required.
- Exposure to a loud, smoking casino environment with flashing lights.
