Position Summary:
The Medical Insurance Verification Specialist at First Urology is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely verification of patient insurance coverage prior to scheduled services. This role plays a critical managing and resolving insurance claims and accounts, ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for medical services provided.
Responsibilities

Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits by contacting insurance companies via phone, online portals, or other communication channels.

Obtain and document accurate information regarding patient demographics, insurance plans, and policy numbers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance plans, policies, and procedures to facilitate efficient verification and billing processes.

Process good faith estimates.

Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing concerns and inquiries related to insurance coverage and billing.

Handles inbound calls from locations, patients, etc. with general insurance questions.
Qualifications

Previous experience in hospital or medical billing insurance department.

1 year experience working with Electronic Health Record software.
- Experience with websites such as Availity, Experian, Navinet, Medicaid, etc.
Education and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree or higher a plus.
