Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and well-being
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical records standards
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, memory impairments, or behavioral health conditions
- Utilize advanced skills such as phlebotomy, catheter care, and aseptic techniques to support medical procedures and patient comfort
- Operate equipment like Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and assist with mobility aids in accordance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers, ICU units, or pediatric intensive care units (PICU) to deliver comprehensive patient service
- Maintain accurate medical documentation of patient care activities while adhering to confidentiality standards under HIPAA guidelines
- Support patients in post-acute care environments including rehabilitation facilities or outpatient clinics by providing compassionate caregiving and health monitoring
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation and patient records management
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique
- Experience in various healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU and emergency medicine), nursing homes, assisted living communities, hospice care, or home & community care environments
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) procedures confidently and efficiently
- Skilled in patient service tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration support, catheter care, and use of mobility aids like Hoyer lifts
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and provide empathetic patient support
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or trauma centers while maintaining attention to detail
