Blue Heron Root Canal Specialists is a privately owned, veteran owned, female owned, state-of-the-art endodontic practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a compassionate and welcoming environment. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and team-oriented Endodontic Assistant who takes pride in clinical excellence and creating an outstanding patient experience.
Our practice is equipped with advanced technology, including CBCT imaging and dental operating microscopes. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced specialty practice where attention to detail, professionalism, and teamwork are valued.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms for endodontic procedures and surgical cases.
- Provide exceptional four-handed chairside assistance during root canal therapy, retreatment, trauma management, and endodontic microsurgery.
- Maintain a sterile clinical environment following OSHA, CDC, and infection control guidelines.
- Expose high-quality digital radiographs and CBCT scans.
- Assist with microscope positioning and organization of endodontic instruments and materials.
- Prepare and organize treatment materials, including rotary instrumentation systems, obturation materials, irrigants, and bioceramic products.
- Educate patients regarding procedures, post-operative instructions, and home care.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout treatment and provide an exceptional patient experience.
- Accurately document clinical notes and treatment information in Open Dental.
- Maintain operatory inventory and assist with ordering clinical supplies.
- Perform instrument sterilization and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with laboratory tasks, clinical organization, and quality assurance.
- Cross-train to assist with front office responsibilities as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assisting experience (2+ years preferred)
- Endodontic assisting experience preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Radiology certification required.
- Experience with CBCT imaging preferred.
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, endodontic terminology, and infection control protocols.
- Experience with Open Dental or similar practice management software.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Positive attitude with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient while managing multiple responsibilities.

Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No evenings or weekends
