BrightStar Care is hiring a Home Care RN to provide skilled nursing services to patients throughout the Kansas City Metro. This is a field-based position where you'll visit patients in their homes and provide the specific nursing care they need.
No two days are exactly the same. Your schedule may include an infusion in the morning, a start of care or reassessment in the afternoon, and a medication box fill or catheter visit in between.
We're looking for a confident, adaptable nurse who is comfortable working independently and enjoys hands-on patient care.
What You'll Do
As a Home Care RN, you may provide:
- IV infusions and infusion therapy
- TPN management
- Catheter insertion, maintenance, and care
- Medication box fills and medication management
- Start of care assessments
- Client reassessments
- Skilled nursing assessments and visits
- Wound care
- Medication administration
- Patient and family education
- Monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition
- Additional skilled nursing services based on patient needs and physician orders
You'll also maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate with patients, families, physicians, and the BrightStar Care clinical team to support continuity of care.
Who We're Looking For
Our ideal Home Care RN is a well-rounded nurse who enjoys being the person we can confidently call for a variety of patient needs.
You should be:
- Clinically confident and comfortable working independently
- Experienced with or comfortable providing IV and infusion therapy
- Comfortable with TPN and catheter care
- Strong in head-to-toe assessments and clinical documentation
- Organized and able to manage multiple patient visits
- Comfortable communicating with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Adaptable to different patients, diagnoses, and home environments
- Dependable and able to recognize when a change in condition needs to be escalated
Experience in home health, home care, infusion therapy, or skilled nursing is preferred.
Position Requirements
To join our team as a Home Care RN, you will need:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Kansas and/or Missouri RN license based on assigned patients
- Compact/Multistate RN license preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Negative TB screening within the required timeframe
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Reliable transportation to travel between patient homes
- Laptop or tablet available for electronic charting
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of providing hands-on nursing care
