Grants and Compliance Coordinator
Status: Independent Contractor

Position Summary
The Grants and Compliance Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing the mission of the Child Advocacy & Sexual Assault Center through effective grant compliance, reporting, and coordination of fiscal and administrative systems. This position supports fund development, ensures compliance with grant requirements from private, local, state, and federal sources, manages grant systems, and serves as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, Funders, and bookkeeping partners.
Key Responsibilities
Grants & Funding
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities from private, local, state, and federal sources to support agency sustainability.
- Assist with grant writing, proposal development, and submission processes.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of and relationships with typical CAC funders, including CJCC, United Way, VOCA, and similar sources.
- Track, calendar, and submit for all grant deadlines and deliverables.
Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare and submit grant progress, performance, and financial reports in accordance with funder requirements.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with grant terms, conditions, and allowable expenses.
- Maintain organized documentation to support audits, monitoring visits, and compliance reviews.
Financial Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with the Bookkeeper to ensure accurate allocation of expenses to appropriate funding sources.
- Assign and track which bills and expenditures correspond to specific grants.
- Support financial reconciliation and documentation required for grant reporting.
Board & Committee Support
- Prepare clear, concise written reports for the Board of Directors related to grant funding, compliance status, submissions, and financial alignment.
- Serve as staff liaison to the Finance Committee, including attending meetings as needed to provide updates, answer questions, and support fiscal oversight.
Records & Systems Management
- Organize and maintain digital agency records, ensuring documents are stored in proper folders and aligned with record-keeping standards.
- Manage the Donor Perfect system, including donor data entry, gift processing, reporting, and maintaining data integrity.
Work Schedule & Hybrid Expectations
This position may operate under a hybrid or fully remote work model, with the following expectations:
- In-office/virtual presence up to one day per week to support collaboration, record management, and internal coordination.
- Virtual attendance at monthly Board of Directors meetings.
- Virtual attendance at Finance Committee meetings as required, which may occur monthly or quarterly.
- Additional in-person attendance may be required periodically for audits, funder meetings, or organizational needs and will be negotiated at the time of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Finance, Social Services, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in grants coordination, compliance, and reporting.
- Experience working with CAC-related funding sources such as CJCC, United Way, VOCA, or similar public and private grants.
- Experience with donor or grants management systems pertinent to the GreenHouse CAC.
- Strong written communication skills, including experience preparing reports for leadership and boards.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating financial documentation with bookkeepers or accounting staff.
- Prior involvement in successful grant submissions or renewals.
- Comfort communicating financial and compliance information to non-financial audiences.
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary teams or child-serving nonprofit environments.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
