Aluminum Fabricator (Temporary, 4-6 weeks)
AeroGo is a world leader in the manufacturing of innovative equipment for moving heavy loads and tooling utilizing hovercraft and wheeled technology.
We are seeking an experienced temporary Fabricator for 4-6 weeks to cover for a planned leave of absence. The Temporary Fabricator is responsible for the preparation and welding of aluminum structures for standard and custom AeroGo projects. Experience with steel is a plus.
DUTIES:
- Set up, cut, fit, and weld aluminum and steel.
- Read and follow detailed engineered drawings, blueprints, and other written and oral instructions.
- Verify dimensions and product specifications.
- Proficient in Aluminum Welding [MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW)] and steel welding [MIG (GMAW), Fluxcore (FCAW), and Tig (GTAW)]
- Operate lift truck, crane, panel saw, stationary and other small hand tools – air and electric.
- Assess and openly recommend manufacturing improvements to create a more efficient and quality product.
- Maintain a production schedule. Collaborate with Production Manager on schedule issues or delays.
- Adhere to manufacturing plant safety standards.
- Promote a positive work environment by modeling AeroGo core values.
- Other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years fabrication experience.
- Able to test and pass American Welding Society (AWS) qualifications.
- Good dexterity and eye coordination.
- Proficient in fabricating a variety of materials, including various grades and thicknesses.
- Ability to plan and execute multiple projects.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively across departments while building trusting relationships and positively influencing others.
HOURS
Shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM with opportunities for voluntary overtime.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This an hourly, non-exempt position with starting pay range of $30.00 – $45.00 per hour depending on experience.
Benefits are dependent on the length of the assignment.
This position is represented by the Air Cushion Workers Union. Members are required to be in “good standing”. Dues are $5/month.

Physical Requirements
The position requires working in a factory environment which may include hot, cold, or noisy conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Also required is the ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders and stairs, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool, as necessary. Must be able to walk extended distances over uneven ground while wearing proper PPE.
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
