Job Overview
We are seeking a 2nd Shift, highly motivated and detail-oriented Mold Technician/Die Setter specializing in Plastics Injection Molding to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This position plays a key role in maintaining smooth and efficient molding operations at Belmont Engineered Plastics. The Mold Tech / Die Setter ensures safe, accurate, and timely mold changes, supports process technicians, and helps uphold BEP’s standards for quality, efficiency, and equipment care.
Essential Duties
· Perform complete mold changes safely and efficiently using overhead cranes, forklifts, and proper hand tools.
· Follow all lockout/tagout and PPE requirements during setup, changeover, and maintenance activities.
· Verify proper mold alignment, clamp conditions, waterline connections, and robot clearances before startup.
· Assist with machine start-ups, process troubleshooting, and adjustments under guidance from Process Technicians.
· Ensure all components are cleaned and maintained.
· Support mold cart organization, tool cleaning, and mold storage area housekeeping.
· Mentor new or entry-level employees on safe mold handling and setup practices.
· Communicate equipment or tooling concerns promptly to Process Techs, Maintenance, and Supervisors.
· Participate in 5S, safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Must abide with PPE requirements: safety glasses, gloves and other items as required for specific jobs
Qualifications
· Minimum 3 years of experience in injection molding or a related manufacturing environment.
· Proficiency with overhead cranes, forklifts, and mold handling tools.
· Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical safety practices.
· Familiarity with mold setup, quick-change systems, and robotic interface basics preferred.
· Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· High school diploma or GED required.
