Advanced Heart and Vein Center is a highly skilled group of private cardiovascular specialists in Colorado. We are looking for a talented, like-minded medical assistant to join our family.
- AHVC was founded by a group of physicians who are passionate about providing a different and innovative model of cardiovascular care delivered through an independent private practice.
- The clinic is based on a modern comprehensive care model that integrates multiple areas of cardiac, vascular and vein care into one service line delivered under one roof.
- AHVC includes 8 physicians and 6 APPs.
- Clinic consisting of testing, evaluation, pre-op/post op, vein procedures etc.
- Denver and Thornton office locations.
Job Duties: Assist physician team with patient care to ambulatory cardiology patients. Identify and greet patient, escort patient to examination room, verify purpose of visit and medications, take and record vital signs, record and report patient condition.
May operate or assist in operating various devices (EKG, Doppler, INR), ambulate patients via wheelchair. Answer phones. Obtain and request medical records form various databases. Preparing charts with test results, information from other facilities/offices, assisting providers with inputting orders and medications. Other job related tasks include but not limited to; Assisting the Physician during Examinations or Procedures, Explaining Medical Procedures to Patients, Calling in Prescriptions to Pharmacies, Ordering and/or Collecting Laboratory Specimens, Handling Sterile Medical Instruments, Follow all Safety Precautions.
Education/Experience: High School Graduate with 2 or more related years of experience in cardiology, outpatient or medical setting. Candidates are preferred to have received training from an accredited Medical Assistant School, including basic clinical and administrative skills. Knowledge of and experience with electronic medical records (EMRs.)
License/Certifications: MA certification is not required at this time, but recommended. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, but may be obtained after hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Open Monday thru Friday. 8am-4pm
In the working environment of the clinic, there may be potential exposure to communicable diseases, contaminated blood and body fluids and hazardous materials.
