Job title: Motel Maintenance Technician
Part-time: 15 hours per week over three days. (5 hour shifts). No weekends. No holidays. Hours 9:30 - 2:30pm but open to discussion at interview. Looking to hire within 1 week.
Worksite is a motel consisting of 42 rooms on 3 floors.
Job summary: The Maintenance Technician will perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed on the property as well as ensuring safety of employees and guests.
Applicant must be flexible as daily tasks will vary. One day there may be a toilet clogged another day a leak from a faucet.
Responsibilities:
- Display good customer service relation skills.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
- Maintain motel and surrounding area, performing minor painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other related maintenance activities using hand tools.
- Perform routine maintenance such as checking belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
- Perform season duties such as hanging Christmas lights on exterior of building, maintaining grounds by weeding or operating snowblower.
- Notify management concerning need of major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment. Perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and laundry equipment.
- Tile, grout, drywall, trash removing, cleaning and weeding.
Skill requirement:
- No license required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once - troubleshoot causes of operating errors and repair.
- Ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, courtesy, cooperativeness, safe and effectively. May be specialized in an area of general maintenance.
- Knowledge of general machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stoop, bend, push, pull and reach upward. Ability to tolerate temperatures, cold to hot and working with chemicals.
Job qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: previous similar work related experience is preferred. Ability to learn and adjust to day to day needs is a must.
We offer competitive pay $20 - $25 an hour. No benefits are offered in this position.
