Kid’s World is located on Rt. 11 in Bunker Hill, WV. We are a state-licensed educational program looking for an Pre-K Support Staff & After School Care Teacher. We are looking for candidates with a passion for working with children and a desire to lead children in a positive direction. RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following
- Work with the children on their daily homework assignments
- Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the Lead Teacher.
- Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Assist in the supervision the classroom.
- Help with the general housekeeping tasks.
- Assist the Lead Teacher in other ways as requested.
- Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the Kid’s World at all times.
- Treat all children with dignity and respect.
- Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences. Participate in meetings and trainings.
- Help Teacher to supervise and promote activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of children enrolled at Kid’s World.
- Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom.
- Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene; hand washing and assist with bathroom activities.
- Attend Kid’s World functions.
- Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Report to Teacher or Director any problem which may occur with the children.
- Observe, record, and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 21 years of age
- At least 1 year experience working with children (preferred, but can work with you)
- Working knowledge of current homework concepts from Kindergarten-5th
- CPR (adult, child, and infant) and First Aid Certified (must possess or obtain within 3 months-if hired by August 12th it will be provided for FREE on August 14th)
- Must pass required background checks for state and federal
- Good communication skills, dependable, and willingness to work as a team
- Able to relate well with parents and children
- STARS certified within 3 months of employment
- Hours needed Pre-K 11:45am-3:05pm & After Care 3:35pm-6:00pm (could vary slightly) Monday-Thursday & Fridays 2:30pm/3:00pm-6:00pm when school is in session-could be combined with being a substitute or Before Care Teacher in other programs if more hours are desired (if over 21 years of age)
Preferred skills:
- At least 1 year experience working with children
- STARS registered status (level 2 or higher) (We will help you obtain as well!)
- Knowledge of WV licensing guidelines (We will educate you as well!)
