Job Summary
Seeking experienced MIG Welders for a production welding environment in Kent, OH. Candidates will perform MIG welding on fabricated parts while maintaining quality, consistency, and accuracy throughout the shift. Pay is based on welding experience, skill level, and ability to pass a weld test.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on production parts using solid wire and/or flux core welding processes.
- Complete welds in multiple positions while maintaining proper quality standards.
- Inspect completed work for weld defects, dimensional accuracy, and overall quality.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, weld symbols, measurements, and fabrication instructions.
- Perform basic fitting, layout, and assembly of welded components as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all safety procedures while working around heat, fumes, and welding equipment.
Requirements
- MIG welding experience required.
- Must successfully pass a weld test prior to placement:
- 2G Hardwire OR 3G Flux Core for production welding roles.
- 4G testing available for advanced structural/heavy fabrication roles.
- Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols preferred.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures and understand fractions.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with out-of-position welding preferred.
Experience Levels
Production MIG Welder (Level 2)
- Pay: $23–$26/hr
- Welds out of position, not flat only.
- Performs MIG welding using hardwire and/or flux core.
- Fits simple parts and reads basic blueprints.
- Uses tape measures and understands basic measurements and fractions.
Structural / Heavy Fabrication Welder-Fitter (Level 3)
- Pay: $26–$29/hr
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and flux core welding preferred.
- Daily work primarily involves flux core welding.
- Performs overhead welding.
- Completes layouts, fit-up, and works from complex blueprints.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Shift Information
1st Shift:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift:
Monday–Thursday, 4:15 PM – 2:45 AM (10-hour shifts)
- New hires train on 1st shift for approximately 30 days before transitioning to 2nd shift.
- Additional $1.25/hr shift differential included in pay range.
