Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician/Optical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our optical practice, assisting both patients and healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Assist patients with eyewear selection and fittings, ensuring optimal comfort and style.
- Order glasses and contact lenses via insurance portals or directly with the lab
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Operate optical systems and equipment, including the Crystal Practice Management system for patient management.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
- Collaborate with the optometrist to facilitate patient care.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the optical area, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Utilize retail math skills to assist in inventory management and sales tracking.
Experience
- Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with optometry practices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset are crucial for success in this role.
