Pay Rate: $110,000 to $137,000

Work Schedule: Monday Through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Job Summary
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for driving portfolio performance through strategic SKU-level decision-making, category direction, and cross-functional execution. This role ensures the portfolio is optimized for sales, margin, and brand alignment by managing SKU rationalization, category prioritization, and ongoing portfolio governance within a competitive food and beverage landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Define category structure based on market dynamics and competitive insights to guide product strategy and ensure cross-functional alignment
- Own SKU-level decisions (Grow / Maintain / Exit) based on performance, profitability, and strategic fit, including seasonal demand and shelf-life considerations
- Establish category direction using structured tools (e.g., positioning maps) and identify growth, maintenance, and improvement opportunities
- Lead product lifecycle decisions, including new product launches, flavor extensions, pack-size optimization, formulation changes, and discontinuations
- Manage portfolio governance processes, including monthly SKU reviews and decision tracking
- Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Supply Chain, and Sales, including prioritization, manufacturing trade-offs, and SKU discontinuation decisions
- Monitor portfolio performance (sales, margin, and mix) and identify inefficiencies such as SKU proliferation and margin dilution
- Translate data and performance insights into actionable recommendations and corrective actions
- Leverage external data sources and consumer insights to inform portfolio strategy and connect market trends to business priorities
Required Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), preferably within Food & Beverage
- Proven experience in category management or brand management with responsibility for a diverse SKU portfolio
- Exposure to manufacturing constraints such as minimum order quantities (MOQs), production line changeovers, and cold-chain logistics
- Understanding of retail sales and merchandising processes
Preferred Experience & Certifications
- Experience using syndicated data tools such as Nielsen or IRI
- Strong background in P&L management, including Gross Margin, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and price-pack architecture
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Food Science, or a related field (required)
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree (preferred)
