American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Float Pool position at a large Level I Trauma Academic Medical Center, requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Short-term acute care hospital setting at a large Level I Trauma Academic Medical Center with over 1,500 staffed beds
-
ICU Float Pool position requiring float coverage across 5 ICU specialties between two campuses (York Street Campus and Saint Raphael Campus), located approximately 2 blocks apart with shuttle service available
-
Floating to step-down units is required as needed, including a pulmonary step-down unit with a 1:3 patient ratio

Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)

Every other weekend required

No on-call requirements

Block scheduling is not available

EMR: Epic
-
Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date)

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Prior experience in a large Trauma Center setting required

Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions

1 professional reference required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate

Former permanent staff of the health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler

RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval

Flu vaccine is required — declinations are not accepted

COVID vaccine and booster required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered

Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as directed by the facility

Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
