What is this career opportunity?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to oversee vendor contract compliance and support financial compliance within the agency. This role monitors vendor and subcontractor compliance across multiple contracts, MOUs and service agreements as assigned by the Director, and conducts the annual advertising agency invoice audit review. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong contract oversight, vendor management, and issue escalation skills. This role also provides an independent review of financial journal entries and statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and state requirements, including verification of figures, postings, documentation, and coding. The position evaluates internal controls, identifies gaps, and recommends process improvements to strengthen compliance with federal, state, and agency policies. Responsibilities also include reviewing bank reconciliations to identify risks or issues, performing transaction and compliance testing through sample reviews of expenditures and revenues, documenting findings and corrective actions, and assisting internal and external auditors during compliance reviews.
What are we looking for?
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in business or a related field; AND
- Two years of job-related work experience; OR
- Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Competencies:
Knowledge of:
- State of Montana - SABHRS (preferred)
- State of Montana - EMACS
- Microsoft Office products
- Adobe Acrobat;

Recommend actions to address violations, corrections, or new requirements in rules/regulations.- Problem-solving: ability to effectively look at a problem and break it down using critical thinking skills.
