American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Ambulatory Surgery Center PACU position requiring ACLS, PALS, and experience recovering phase 1 patients across pediatric to geriatric age groups.

Work in an Ambulatory Surgery Center setting
-
Provide phase 1 PACU recovery care for surgical eye patients (cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, plastics)
-
Care for patients ranging in age from 6 months to 95 years
-
Day shift schedule with 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly

Active RN license (Oklahoma State or Compact/eNLC)

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

ACLS and PALS certifications required
-
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required (2 years preferred)

Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Excellent IV skills and experience instilling prescribed pupil-dilating drops

Ability to manage airways and control pain or nausea in recovering patients

Strong patient interview and assessment skills
-
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of surgical patients
-
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and note changes in physician orders

Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures

Administer medications and monitor IV infusions and blood products
-
Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout treatment and at discharge

Delegate tasks to support staff as needed

Must maintain a fast pace while working collaboratively as part of a team

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Returning travelers may extend once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
