We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant Extended Function (RDAEF) to join our vibrant dental team. Duties
- Assist dentists with advanced procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical operations.
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols.
- Take high-quality dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to all safety standards and radiation safety guidelines.
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or medical imaging.
- Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while delivering compassionate patient care tailored to pediatric and general dentistry needs.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including dental instrument processing, dental sterilization procedures, and aseptic technique.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners.
- Familiarity with patient management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, billing, and record keeping.
- Expertise in infection control practices aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, providing excellent patient management and care.
- Knowledge of general dentistry procedures along with specialized fields like prosthodontics and oral surgery to support comprehensive treatment plans.
