Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic support to individuals, particularly children K-12 at-risk, and their families, facing various mental health challenges. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health disorders, effective therapeutic techniques, and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for clients. The Mental Health Therapist will work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans and facilitate positive change.
We currently have positions open in Osceola County.
Our therapist work remotely from home and travel to clients homes and schools in their designated preferred area to provide the therapy service.
Therapy is provided in person, however there is an ability to provide services via teletherapy in response to Covid-19 when deemed appropriate. This is not solely a telehealth position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Biopsychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapy sessions 1x a week for 1 hour utilizing evidence-based practices
- Engage in child family counseling to support family dynamics and improve communication.
- Manage case files and maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, if applicable, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Provide support in crisis situations, demonstrating effective conflict management skills.
- Stay informed about best practices in relevant therapeutic approaches.

Experience/Skills
- Proven experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting is preferred.
- Experience in crisis intervention and conflict management is essential.
- Willingness to work in partnership with the client to achieve goals
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses.
- Timely and quality concurrent documentation
- Comfortable with utilizing technology at all points of the day, including telehealth software, video communication, electronic signature methods, and internal communication tools.
- Awareness of and compliance with HIPAA
What You Need/Requirements
- Masters degree in a Mental Health related field REQUIRED (Clinical Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family, or Psychology)
- Applicant must pass a level II background screening for AHCA as well as the school required Jessica Lunsford Act screening if accessing school campuses.
Applicant must be self-disciplined to manage their own caseloads and deadlines and be consistently punctual with submitting work. ABT is heavily focused on compliance, and clinically sound treatment, in all its service provision, documentation and deadlines per governing insurance and Medicaid requirements.

Position is “Fee-for-Service”, Independently Contracted. Applicant must have dependable transportation, excellent communication skills, and be able to carry a 10-client case load minimum.
