Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot issues on diesel engines and related systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Inspect vehicles for safety and compliance with regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with management and other staff regarding vehicle status and repair needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, and electronic control systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
