- Design municipal water and wastewater infrastructure systems (pump stations, pipelines, treatment components, drainage, utilities)
- Develop construction-ready plans, profiles, grading, and utility layouts
- Support senior engineers with project delivery, scheduling, and technical coordination
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and field troubleshooting as experience grows
- Apply engineering principles to real-world municipal infrastructure challenges
- Support conceptual planning and design development through construction phases
- Progress toward independently managing small-to-mid-sized projects
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field)
- 5–7 years of civil engineering experience preferred
- Hands-on experience in municipal water and/or wastewater design projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil design production
- Active EIT certification required (PE preferred or on PE track)
- Experience producing construction-ready engineering drawings
- Ability to work independently at the workstation and manage assigned design tasks
- Willingness to conduct local site visits and field coordination
Preferred Experience
- PE license (Texas PE strongly preferred)
- Experience transitioning from design engineering into project management
- Field or construction exposure (inspection, site engineering, or construction support roles)
- Background in municipal consulting, utilities, or environmental/civil engineering firms
Why This Role
- Direct impact on large-scale municipal infrastructure projects
- Clear growth path from design engineer to project manager
- Exposure to both technical design and client-facing responsibilities
- Opportunity to work on long-term infrastructure programs with strong stability and growth potential
