Position Summary
We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager who is passionate about sustainability, B2B marketing, and driving business growth.
This is a marketing-first role (approximately 80% marketing / 20% public relations). The ideal candidate understands how to generate qualified leads, support sales, create compelling content, and build brand awareness that converts into revenue.
You will work closely with executive leadership including the VP of Sales to expand Corn Next’s presence across retail, foodservice, hospitality, education, healthcare, and distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing (80%)
- Develop and execute integrated B2B marketing strategies that generate qualified sales opportunities.
- Create sales collateral, presentations, brochures, one-pagers, and product sell sheets.
- Manage the company website and optimize content for lead generation and SEO.
- Plan and execute email marketing campaigns and nurture programs.
- Manage LinkedIn and other social media platforms with a focus on thought leadership and customer engagement.
- Produce customer success stories, case studies, blogs, videos, and educational content.
- Support trade shows, conferences, webinars, and industry events before, during, and after each event.
- Coordinate digital advertising campaigns and analyze campaign performance.
- Track marketing KPIs, website traffic, lead generation, conversion rates, and ROI.
- Maintain marketing assets, CRM data, and campaign reporting.
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales to develop tools that help close new business.
Public Relations (20%)
- Write and distribute press releases.
- Build relationships with media, trade publications, podcasts, and industry influencers.
- Coordinate award submissions and speaking opportunities.
- Develop executive thought leadership content.
- Support product launches, partnership announcements, and company news.
- Monitor media coverage and identify opportunities to increase brand visibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in B2B, consumer packaged goods, food service, sustainability, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Experience generating qualified leads and supporting sales organizations.
- Strong content writing and storytelling skills.
- Experience with digital marketing, email campaigns, CRM platforms, and marketing automation.
- Proficiency with LinkedIn marketing and social media management.
- Experience managing websites.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Public relations experience is a plus but not required.
Preferred Experience
- Sustainable products or ESG focused companies (Environmental, Social, and Governance)
- Packaging or foodservice industry
- Consumer packaged goods (CPG)
- Retail, distribution, or hospitality marketing
- Trade show and event marketing
- HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho CRM, or similar platforms
- Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable design tools
