Job Summary: This position is part of a two-person team that oversees all warehouse operations and supports production operations. This is a role responsible for inventory control, shipping, receiving, pulling all ingredients for production, returning all unused ingredients, and warehouse organization and cleanliness. We do not use scanners. Three years minimum of warehouse experience required. This position reports to the Warehouse Lead.
The Warehouse Department has 4 main functions, in addition to standard inventory control:
- Receive raw materials; put away
- Stage and deliver raw materials to manufacturing floor; put away raw materials not used
- Pick up finished goods from the manufacturing floor; put away
- Stage and ship finished goods out of inventory (all shipments are industrial, not retail)
Job Context:
QIC is a successful contract food manufacturer. QIC is a financially healthy and growing organization. We have been in business for over 35 years. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, in a 60,000 sq. ft. facility.
Warehouse operations generally run from 7 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday, making for a 45-hour week. There are two breaks and a lunch break – all of which is paid as long as the employee remains on the premises. On occasion, OT is needed but is generally not more than a few hours a week. If the day’s work is done before 4 PM, it is not necessary or expected that the employee would be required to stay until 4 PM.
This full-time position offers a starting wage of $22.00+ per hour (+ depends on prior relevant experience and skills) plus medical & dental benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, disability, life insurance, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
· Load and unload products that satisfy our customers’ expectations for shipments.
· Inspect incoming and outgoing carriers while documenting results for verification of accurate ingredients/products and appropriate paperwork for shipment.
· Unpack and examine incoming shipments, rejected damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
· Accurately process materials received and shipped within QIC’s ERP system.
· Work with QIC personnel on setting up shipment of products to outside storage facilities in a timely and cost-effective manner.
· Monitor and investigate shipping and/or receiving issues
· Execute cycle counts on a scheduled basis, ensuring counts and records are accurate.
· Accurately stages finished product and return unused material to warehouse.
· Work closely with QIC personnel to conduct accurate physical inventories of both finished products and raw ingredients.
· Properly store and segregate raw materials, finished goods, and inedible materials. Efficiently use warehouse space.
· Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation to verify accuracy of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
· Perform daily inspections on lift trucks and report any issues to the maintenance department.
· Comply with all safe forklift driving practices to prevent damage to equipment and injury to self or others.
· Complete and document all items pertaining to the warehouse Master Sanitation Schedule on a timely basis.
· Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
· Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
· Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers. Insert items into container.
· Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
· Route items to departments.
· Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
· Operate lift truck or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
· Ensure warehouse is organized, clean, and safely maintained
· Work with Rabbinical supervisors to maintain Kosher status, along with stamping labels, reconciliations, etc.
· Always ensure the safety of yourself and other employees. Follow all safety rules and regulations and insist that all other employees follow our safety rules.
· Other duties may be assigned to include but limited to staging ingredients, assisting fellow employees in cleaning or setting up other areas, empty corrugate bin, using floor scrubber, removing labels from unused packaging, sticker tower bags, and making labels.
· Learn all needed to be the back-up for the Warehouse Lead in Lead’s absence (e.g. PTO)

o Move or lift or carry up to 60 pounds, on occasion

o Comfortable wearing PPE – eye protection, ear protection, steel toed shoes, uniforms, respiratory protection (if preferred)
o Comfortable being exposed to dust, particles, odors, changes in temperature and equipment
· Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical and background investigation.
· Minimum five years of work experience – any work experience
· Minimum three years’ work experience in industrial warehouse including operating a forklift; warehouse colocated with manufacturing preferred
· Forklift trained and certified
