As a Mental Health Practitioner, you'll provide essential rehabilitative services to adults with mental health challenges. Your work will involve offering guidance, support, and practical assistance to help clients achieve psychiatric stability, develop social skills, enhance emotional well-being, and gain independence.
You'll collaborate closely with the ARMHS Program Director, Office Administrator, and Treatment Supervisor to deliver high-quality services under the ARMHS program.

How You’ll Make A Difference:
- Client Services: Teaching mental health skills and developing recovery and rehabilitation goals with clients.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with case managers, families, medical staff, and other providers to support client progress.
- Therapeutic Relationships: Build strong client connections and offer clinical interventions under professional supervision.
- Community-Based Support: Deliver services at various locations, maintain positive community relationships, and refer clients to additional resources as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain and update client files, treatment plans, and assessments in compliance with DHS guidelines, using Electronic Health Records.
- Professional Development: Attend meetings, workshops, and supervision sessions, contributing to team decisions and agency initiatives.
- Transportation: Use reliable personal transportation with valid insurance to travel between client locations.
This role requires maintaining professionalism, ensuring confidentiality, and staying informed about community resources and agency programs to support clients effectively.
Qualifications – DHS Requirements for ARMHS Practitioner To join our team, you should meet one of the following criteria:
- Master's Degree in behavioral sciences or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in behavioral sciences or a related field with relevant practicum or internship experience plus 30 Semester Hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences, or 2,000 hours of supervised experience.
- 4,000 Hours of supervised experience working with mental illness or substance abuse disorders and emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities.
- Education & Experience: Must meet Minnesota DHS requirements for a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker, which includes one of the following
- A bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related field plus 2,000 hours of supervised experience.
- Completion of a DHS-approved internship in mental health.
- Training: Willingness to complete DHS ARMHS training prior to providing services.
- Cultural Competency: Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to cultural responsiveness in service delivery.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in clinical documentation.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation with, a valid Driver’s License (as services may be provided in client homes or community settings).
