American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment on a 3rd floor Surgical Unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg hospital experience and an active NH or compact RN license.

Position is located on a 3rd floor Surgical Unit within a hospital setting
-
27-bed unit staffed with 5-6 RNs and 2-3 LNAs per shift
-
Patient population includes post-surgical orthopedic (knees, hips, shoulder, cervical) and bariatric cases
-
Patient ratio is 5-6:1
-
Equipment used includes Hoyer lifts and CPM machines
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
13-week contract
-
Requires 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
-
Floating to Medical Oncology may be required
-
Active NH or compact RN license must be in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting required

Experience in orthopedics or bariatrics is preferred

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Provide post-surgical nursing care to orthopedic and bariatric patients

Night shift team consists of a Charge RN, staff RNs, and 2-3 LNAs
-
Day shift includes a Unit Coordinator Monday through Friday

Collaborative, patient-focused work environment

One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
