2026-2027 High School Band Director / Middle School Choir Teacher
Cherokee Community School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated music educator to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year.
The successful candidate will:

Teach 9-12 Band, including all high school instrumental music responsibilities.

Teach one section of 6th Grade Choir.

Foster a positive, engaging, and student-centered learning environment.

Collaborate with fellow music educators to build a strong, comprehensive music program.

Support student growth through performances, competitions, and other music-related activities.
Qualifications:

Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate endorsements (or ability to obtain licensure).

Strong instrumental music background and effective classroom management skills.

Commitment to excellence in music education and student achievement.

Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the community.
