Ambient Recruiting is partnering with a growing Northern Michigan manufacturer to hire an experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist. This position plays a vital role in keeping production running by managing incoming materials, preparing outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and processing product returns.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Shipping & Receiving Specialist, you'll:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, and specification compliance
- Load, unload, stage, and organize incoming and outgoing freight
- Prepare, package, and label outbound shipments
- Generate shipping documentation and freight carrier paperwork
- Schedule carrier pickups and monitor shipments through delivery
- Maintain organized warehouse inventory and replenish storage locations
- Process Returned Merchandise Authorizations (RMA) and returned products
- Inspect returned merchandise, document findings, and coordinate repairs, replacements, or restocking
- Maintain accurate inventory records using barcode scanners and inventory software
- Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain documentation for reporting and audits
- Support overall warehouse organization and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates typically have:
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 to 5 years of warehouse, shipping & receiving, inventory control, or related experience
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance
- Comfortable standing and walking throughout the workday
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification
- OSHA safety training
- Quality inspection experience
- Experience with inventory management systems and barcode scanning technology
