1st shift hours are 5am-3pm. Monday – Thursday. Potential for overtime on Fridays.

We are seeking a highly experienced 1st shift GMAW welder/fabricator to join us as we expand our welding capabilities to our Little Canada facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to thrive within an evolving new division of a well-established manufacturer!
Key job functions
- GMAW welding (Spray, Pulse, Short Circuit, Flux core).
- Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, specifications (including AWS weld symbols)
- Fabricate weldments from prints using hand tools and or fixtures.
- Troubleshoot fabrication challenges/ solutions.
- Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within department.
Qualifications
- Min 8 years MIG welding and fabrication within an industrial environment.
- Candidates with previous weld leadership and training experience preferred. This role has the potential to become a leadership position.
- Candidates with AWS D1.1 code welding compliance preferred.
- Welding vocational degree or program completion preferred.
- Ability to pass D1.1 2G GMAW (spray transfer) qualification once hired.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, 75lbs.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, rotate and grasp repetitively throughout shift.
- A positive attitude and willingness to adapt in a developing welding department.
Applicants will be evaluated via a written and practical exam. Contents covered: Welding knowledge and symbols, GMAW ability, blueprint and layout aptitude. Ability to fabricate and weld from a print is necessary.
